Professor Craig White is Divisional Clinical Lead within the Healthcare Quality and Improvement Directorate of the Scottish Government. He led the development of the Strategic Framework on Palliative and End of Life Care and the development of national policy and legislative developments to introduce an organisational duty of candour across health and social care providers in Scotland. Craig is Chair of the Ministerial Review, Section 37 of the 2015 Mental Health Act. He advised the Chief Medical Officer and her team on the development of Realistic Medicine and works across a wide range of teams in Scottish Government on a range of policy areas spanning person-centred care, quality improvement capacity building and facilitating an improvement focused clinical and care governance process within the care delivery system. Craig is a clinical and health psychologist and also has a Master of Medical Law degree. He is an Honorary Professor at the University of Glasgow College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences, a Fellow of the British Psychological Society and the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. Craig lives in Bearsden with his husband Ross.
