Jackie Baillie was elected to represent Dumbarton constituency in 1999. She is the only Scottish Labour MSP to have won her seat continuously in every election. When Scottish Labour was in government, Jackie served as the Deputy Minister for Communities and the Minister for Social Justice, developing ground breaking legislation on homelessness. She has previously served as Scottish Labour Economy Spokesperson and Scottish Labour’s Finance Spokesperson. She is currently Scottish Labour’s Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care and Drugs Policy. She is the co-convener of the Cross Party Group on Cancer at the Scottish Parliament. Jackie was elected as Deputy Leader of Scottish Labour in April 2020. Jackie is active within both the GMB and USDAW and is a member of the Cooperative Party.
