Sam heads up the Strategic Evidence (SE) team at CRUK, which is responsible for evidence synthesis and strategy development across early diagnosis, treatment, and innovation, as well as mapping and addressing evidence gaps through commissioning and undertaking research in-house. Sam and her team focus on how health inequalities interact with different parts of the cancer pathway and aim to generate insights for policymakers and health system leaders on how to better understand and address variation in care and outcomes.
Alongside leading the SE team at CRUK, she leads the International Cancer Benchmarking Partnership programme management and in-house research team. She has been involved in ICBP research development and delivery for 13 years, helping to support over 70+ publications, which have generated data and insight helping cancer leaders to address international survival variation.
