Dr Lorna Porteous

Biography

Dr Porteous has been a GP for over 30 years and has worked in the Scottish Borders, the North East of England and for the last 26 years in East Lothian. She is now retired from clinical practice but currently continues in her strategic roles. She has been the joint clinical lead for the Scottish Primary Care Cancer Group for the last 7 years and was the vice chair for the full clinical review of the Scottish Referral Guidelines for Suspected Cancer.  Her main interests are cancer education and cancer inequalities with particular focus on screening and early diagnosis.
